Picasso’s Portaits of Kanye West

Sure, Picasso may have died 4 years before Kanye West was born...

But you know what?

That didn't stop me from imagining how Picasso would have painted portraits of Kanye West during the different periods of his artistic career, thanks to the magic of AI creative tools.

I even orchestrated some "blue period" outputs.

Two of the most iconic artists of the past 100 years – one painting the other... sort of. ;)

I'm always on the fence with these AI Creations.

Some of them are legitimately moving to me. I WANT them as paintings in my home.

And I ask myself... did I create this? Did the AI create this?

The headspace I've settled into is that it's a joint venture... a creative exercise combined with a curatorial exercise.

In my personal and professional creative work I enjoy coming up with concepts and approaches that others may never have thought of before.

AI creative tools are an extension of that discipline for me – empowering me to visualize ideas that can actually be quite powerful.

And while the text-to-image elements of the tools are proving to be insanely fruitful as a creative tool....

We still can't write great songs, poetry, or truly creative writing yet using AI tools.

(Trust me, I've tried it with most of the "biggest" AI copywriting tools out there at this point).

AI can barely write a rhyming couplet. In fact, the idea of "Rhyme" is so hard for AI to grasp... it even makes me question my own understanding of the English language a bit.

So while I can replicate Picasso's work via AI to create a never-before-seen cubist painting of Kanye West...

It's nowhere near as easy to use AI to produce a Kanye West song about Pablo Picasso :)

(even if Kayne has already headed off in that direction with a bit of his Pablo discography 😌)

I'm just thrilled to be tinkering in this space.

Few things inspire me like new technology, and AI creative tools feel like I've gained a complete new set of muscles to augment my own workflow.
