Designing 360° spaces inspired by @lossapardo and a Bas / FKJ music video

I recently watched this music video and I fell in love with the style. How brilliant to produce a video in this way during these quarantine times!

It was entirely hand painted by @lossapardo.

I thought it was really compelling, and many of the frames gave a great sense of space in the storytelling. I wondered how it might look in 360.

Below are a couple concepts I created with different ideas for filling the space.

This first one was intended to have the iconic doorway frame from the video as the centerpiece. From it the light is emanating out and you feel like you’re on the other side of this door as moments of the story tumble down around you in infinite space.

This one was an exploration in how I could creatively grid out multiple frames to give a sense of receding depth. It ultimately became a little too chaotic for my tastes, but I can see other ways that this could work as a concept.

I had fun making these, and of course I don’t own the images I was working with here. Support great artists, listen to good music, and always use your imagination.

Peace out.

PS: give me a shout if you want to work on a project like this with me.
